Lot

A lot measures the volume of a position. A standard lot = 100,000 units of the base currency, a mini lot = 10,000, a micro lot = 1,000. The bigger the lot, the more each pip is worth — and therefore the higher the risk. Choosing your lot size IS the act of risk management.
