Slippage
Also called: glissement
Slippage is the difference between the price you expected to enter/exit at and the price actually executed. It happens when the market moves fast or lacks liquidity (news, market open, illiquidity). Positive or negative, it’s a reminder that a stop-loss guarantees a trigger, not an exact execution price.
