Divergence
A divergence appears when price and an oscillator (RSI, MACD) tell two different stories: price makes a new high but the oscillator doesn’t (bearish divergence), or the reverse (bullish). It’s a sign that momentum is fading and a reversal may be approaching — a warning signal, not an immediate entry order.
