Momentum

Momentum describes the dynamics of a move: a price that’s accelerating has strong momentum, a price that’s slowing down is running out of steam. It’s the fuel behind a trend. Many indicators (RSI, MACD, ROC) try to quantify it; its loss (visible through divergence) often precedes reversals.
