Gatekeeper

Gatekeeper is macOS’s security mechanism that checks an app’s signature before its first launch. An app downloaded from outside the App Store can trigger the message “can’t be opened… unidentified developer”: that’s not a virus, that’s the gatekeeper doing its job. To proceed with full awareness: right-click the app → Open → confirm — just once, macOS remembers after that. The Mac guide may walk you through this on TradingView Desktop’s first launch. Rule of thumb: only force an app open when you know exactly where it came from, like a verified open source repo.
