MCP (Model Context Protocol)

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open source protocol that acts as a bridge between an AI and third-party software: the AI can read data through it and trigger actions, within the permissions you grant it. In trading, TradingView launched its own official MCP server in September 2026: Claude, ChatGPT or Codex use it to look up prices, the screener and the economic calendar, and to manage your watchlists and your alerts — without ever placing an order. Open source servers go further: they control TradingView Desktop and can even write a Pine Script indicator. Either way, the AI doesn’t “enter” the platform — it controls it from the outside.
