News trading
News trading consists of exploiting the volatility triggered by an economic release (CPI, NFP, rate decision) or a market event. In the seconds after publication, liquidity pulls out: the spread widens, slippage lurks, and the first wicks often shoot in both directions. Prudent approaches reduce size before the release, place the stop in advance, or wait for the first 5- or 15-minute candle to close. Many prop firms forbid opening a position a few minutes before and after a high-impact release. Full method: the guide to economic releases.
